Bad Iburg

Bad Iburg - Hanseatic town on the sunny side of the Teutoburg Forest. Nestled in beautiful nature lies the tranquil and historic small town of the Osnabrück region. Iburg Castle, a double complex of residence and monastery and the most important regional castle of the Osnabrück bishops from the 11th to the 17th century, is enthroned on the castle hill above the Kneipp spa and is the town's landmark. Due to its favorable location on important main trade routes in the direction of the Rhine-Main area and in the east-west direction from Paderborn to Rheine, Bad Iburg became significant for merchants and received city rights in the 13th century. Today the town is a popular vacation and excursion destination with flowery parks. In 2018, it hosted the 6th Lower Saxony State Garden Show.
