DAY OF THE HANSA: Slow food Straupe market

Indulge in seasonal specialties

17. May 2026 Straupe

The Straupe market always takes place on the scheduled date. Whether it's raining or snowing, whether it's scorching hot or freezing down to minus 35 degrees - no market has been canceled and will not be canceled.

Straupes Rural Market is the only one in the Baltics that is a member of the international association Slow Food International Earth Markets Alliance and is entitled to operate under the logo of this association. This means that the products that enter the market are produced in accordance with the Slow Food philosophy – they are local, seasonal and high-quality, grown honestly (fairly and wisely), preserving natural diversity and thinking about environmental sustainability.

The market is a support for small producers who, themselves, their family members or farm workers must represent themselves in the market and be competent stewards of their products. Market lasts from 11:00 – 15:00.
