The young people were warmly welcomed by Salzwedel’s mayor, Olaf Meining, and were given a guided tour of the town hall.
The following day, the group visited a local company that manufactures bathrooms, followed by a visit to the famous Baumkuchen factory. The young people were able to watch how this traditional cake is made and, of course, try some for themselves. There were also creative workshops and a visit to the THW (technical relief organisation).
The weekend was rounded off with explorations of the beautiful town centre, including walks, ice cream and good coffee, as well as a visit to the Märchenpark.
Many thanks to Salzwedel for their hospitality.
