Back in 2024, youthHansa spokesperson Rachid Hamdaoui had the opportunity to demonstrate at the Annual Advisory Forum of Cultural R outes in Viségrad how youthHansa manages to get young people excited about the Hanseatic heritage.
The discussion with Rui Gomes built on this: the focus of the exchange was on the question of how young people in general can be introduced to the topic of ‘Cultural Routes’ and motivated to actively participate in them. Using youthHansa – its structure, organisation and projects – as an example, Rachid illustrated how this can be achieved:
- Communication ‘by young people for young people’
- Actively shaping international projects instead of just standing on the sidelines
- Discovering Europe through real experiences
- Low-threshold access to international networks
Rui Gomes, who has been promoting youth work at European level for over 30 years, was very impressed by the youthHansa network and expressed great interest in a long-term exchange. youthHansa also sees new opportunities and ways to increase its visibility and effectiveness through cooperation with the Institute and looks forward to further discussions.
