youthHansa weekend in Salzwedel

From 10 to 13 September, young people from several Hanseatic cities visited Salzwedel. Here they recount their time in the Altmark:

Salzwedel, a charming small Hanseatic city famous for its delicious Baumkuchen, was the perfect place for our youthHansa weekend! ✨

Our programme was packed with exciting activities! We were warmly welcomed by the mayor Olaf Meining at the city hall, where we enjoyed some pizza and a small tour of the building. 🍕🏛️

The next day, we visited a unique local company producing bathrooms, followed by a visit to the famous Baumkuchen factory. We got to see how this traditional cake is made and, of course, taste it ourselves! 🍰

We also explored the beautiful city centre, enjoyed walks, ice cream and good coffee, and visited the Märchenpark. The day ended with a lovely BBQ together. 🔥

There was also time for creative workshops and a visit to the THW, where we learned more about their important work and contribution to the community.

To finish the weekend, we enjoyed a lovely dinner at a restaurant in the city centre, the perfect way to spend our last evening together. ❤️

It was an amazing weekend full of new experiences, interesting activities, laughter and great company.

Thank you Salzwedel for having us. See you soon again! ❤️🤍
