The International Hanseatic Day in Stargard was clearly one of the best-organized Hanseatic Days in recent years. The goal of the event was to offer all guests an unforgettable experience—a goal that was achieved in every single way. The entire city was filled with a special atmosphere. The diverse Hanseatic Market offered Hanseatic cities from various countries the opportunity to showcase themselves and their cultures. Dancers, musicians, and numerous artistic performances brought the city to life, repeatedly inviting visitors to stay and admire the show.
A special focus was placed on the Jugendhanse program, which centered on getting to know one another and engaging international, friendly exchanges. The youth delegates were housed in a fairytale-like castle outside the Old Town. Sharing accommodations fostered a sense of community and provided the ideal conditions for making new connections and deepening existing friendships.
Even before the event began, participants could choose from a wide selection of workshops. Whether fencing, canoeing, dancing, or creative activities—the varied program offered something for everyone to gain new experiences and continue developing their skills.
The highlight of the youth program was the Youth Delegates’ Assembly on Saturday. There, participants looked back on the Hanseatic events and projects of the past year. This was followed by the election of the new Youth Hanseatic Commission for the term from 2026 to 2028.
After the official proceedings, the Hanseatic Party provided a successful conclusion to the day. Among other things, the results of the youth film workshop were presented. Afterward, everyone celebrated together to music from a wide variety of cultures—a reflection of the international community that characterizes Hanseatic Day.
The International Hanseatic Day came to a dignified close with the traditional final parade and the ceremonial handover of the Hanseatic flag to the next host city. Next year, Braunschweig will host the International Hanseatic Day. There is already great enthusiasm for the Hanseatic family’s reunion.
