The working group wants to organise peer learning and network actors from the Hanseatic cities on the topic of sustainability. "We can learn a lot from others. Only through dialogue can the goals of the Global Agenda 2030 be achieved. We must not only want to do it, but also do it together," says Cornelia Pabst, co-initiator from the German Hanseatic city of Osnabrück.
Background: In 2015, all member states of the United Nations adopted the Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs) as a common agenda until 2030. These 17 goals have become a framework for global cooperation on key social, economic, ethical, environmental and governance issues worldwide. Cities and municipalities play an essential role in the implementation of these goals.
The first working group meeting will take place on 21 September.
