Lünen
Lünen is the largest city in the district of Unna in western Westphalia in the administrative district of Arnsberg, north of the adjoining city of Dortmund. Lünen is a member of the Westfalen-Lippe Landscape Association and the Ruhr Regional Association. The formerly district-free city with about 90,000 inhabitants is is characterised by both industrial and rural influence by its location in the north-eastern Ruhr region and on the southern edge of the Münsterland. Lünen belonged to the medieval Hanseatic League from 1476 and is now a member of the Union of Cities THE HANSA.
