Summer Evening of city history – The alliance treaty of 1476
The original treaty of alliance from 1476 comes to the Hanseatic city of Magdeburg.

On 31 October 1476, Magdeburg and 18 other Hanseatic cities concluded a treaty of alliance. The original treaty document is currently in the city archives of our partner city, Braunschweig and is part of a selection of documents on the history of the Hanseatic League in the UNESCO “Memory of the World” register. On 28 May at 7 p.m., Hanseatic documents from six countries will be presented in our town hall, and what is particularly exciting is that the original treaty of alliance from 1476 will be on display.
The event is scheduled to start at 9 p.m.
