Krüßing is a nationally recognised local festival celebrating the discovery of the cross in Freckenhorst. The religious highlight is the procession on Sunday through the festively decorated town centre, followed by a festive high mass (orchestral mass). The open-air theatre on Friday evening is particularly worth seeing. The Krüßingkirmes takes place next door at the Stiftsmarkt.
