Medieval festival in the historic centre. Hundreds of extras in medieval attire shuffle through the streets. There is a market, street theatre and music.

Go back to the Middle Ages on 10 June during the Hanseatic Festival in Hanseatic city Doesburg! Hundreds of extras in medieval clothing, acts, musicians and live stock will provide an atmospheric ambiance in the historic city centre. From 11 am to 6 pm, enjoy street theatre, music, snacks, old crafts, market stalls and other medieval scenes. The traditional St Martin's meal will also take place on that day, where people will eat together at large tables in the Martini Church.

Acts
Over 500 volunteers in costume will turn beautiful old Doesburg into a wonderful medieval scene. To make the atmosphere even cosier, music will be heard everywhere.

Crafts
Various craftsmen will be present. Not only adults but also children can experience for themselves how everyday objects were manufactured in the Middle Ages.

Livestock
No Hanseatic Days without animals. Animals were also very important in the Middle Ages. Geese, birds of prey and wolfhounds can be seen in the streets.

Museum ship Castle Vlotburg
During the Hanseatic Festival, Museumschip Kasteel Vlotburg will also be moored at Stadshotel Doesburg. This medieval castle ship shows the daily life of people in the Middle Ages. On the ship, lifelike scenes are shown of how people ate, what kind of clothes they wore and the various crafts and medieval customs. Well worth a visit!
