On the third weekend in September, Neuss city centre regularly shines in Hanseatic splendour for the Hanseatic Festival "Hansefest Neuss". Various Hanseatic cities present themselves in front of the town hall throughout the weekend, including the cities of the Rhenish Hanseatic League Wesel, Kalkar/Grieth, Emmerich and Neuss, Salzwedel and Brilon.
Free introductory city tours are offered for visitors interested in the Hanseatic League and the history of Neuss.
Stalls with a variety of goods and food and drink stands await throughout the city centre. There is a colourful programme for children. A stage programme offers entertainment and information at the market.
The Hansefest runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
