The Old Hanseatic City of Lemgo – a unique title amongst the Hanseatic cities. To live up to its name and keep the Hanseatic spirit alive in the hearts of Lemgo’s residents, the Hanseatic Breakfast takes place on the market square every third Saturday in May. Over bread rolls, coffee and cake, the people of Lemgo come together to celebrate the city’s Hanseatic spirit. Live coffee roasting, a pop-jazz band, distillery tastings of the HANSA drink, a HANSA city tour and dance performances add to the colourful hustle and bustle on the market square.
At the same time, the Hanseatic Breakfast marks the start of Lemgo’s HANSA Week (16–25 May), during which many restaurants offer special menus and other specialities, accompanied by live music.
