Hiking in the footsteps of the Hansa merchants
The Hansa trail (Hanseatenweg) is a hiking and biking trail following medieval trade routes of the Hanseatic League. The 550km route connects the Hanseatic cities of Hamburg (Germany) and Szczecin (Poland). A new stage from Hamburg to Osnabrück is currently being developed, a continuation of the trail towards Gdansk is planned. The Hansa trail is a project of the environmental NGO Naturfreunde Deutschlands.
