Receptions, Hansa-Party and Final Parade
Receptions:
- Reception of the city of Lübeck: The hanseatic town of Lübeck
asked their guests to the auditorium of Osnabrück’s Barock Castle.
- Städteabend Lippstadt: The city of Lippstadt, being the host for the next International Hansa
Convention in 2007, invited their guests to a reception at the cupola hall at
the Museum of History.
Hansa-Party
(Helper’s Party)
A big party
was arranged for all helpers and participants of the hanseatic cities a the
Stadthalle. More than 1000 guests enjoyed the evening with live-music of the
bands “Fats Meyer” and “Acoustic Fun Orchestra”. Subsequently a DJ was spinning
until the wee hours of the next morning.
Final
Parade
The 26th
International Hansa Convention 2006 ended with a big and colourful Final
Parade. As before at the Opening ceremony the delegations of the hanseatic
cities showed up, many of them accompanied by cultural and musical groups.
“Infected” by the good mood many of the attending spectators followed the
parade from its start at the “Haarmannsbrunnen” to Market Square.
In
reminiscence of the historical Treaty of Westphalien Peace 1648 marzipan rolls
were handed out during the parade and sweetened the last day of the Hansa
Convention for the attending guests.
The Parade
was followed by a final ceremony at Market
Square, when the Hansa flag, that was sheltered in
Osnabrück for one year, was presented by Lord Mayor Hans-Jürgen Fip to the
President of the Hanseatic League, Bernd Saxe.
He handed it to the Mayor of Lippstadt, Christof Sommer, where the next
International Hansa Convention will take place in 2007.
