The hanseatic city of Fürstenau along with its three city parts, the villages of Hollenstede, Schwagstorf and Settrup, is considered one of the romantic cities in the county of Osnabrück. Centuries have formed the historical character of the town surrounded by a green belt. This picture ist especially embossed with the sovereign castle originating from the city's time of foundation.
