Online-Card - Einbeck
Einbeck, a world of fascinating medieval architecture set in one of the oldest centres of German brewing tradition. The original beauty of its half-timbered townscape has been largely preserved to this day. Einbeck is an ideal touring base for excursions to the Harz mountains or along the river Weser.
Today, Einbeck boasts a multitude of mainly small and medium-size business, which market their products throughout Europe and, in some cases, throughout the world.

In the Middle Ages, Einbeck was a bustling cosmopolitan trading centre along the international trade route, which was reflected in its membership in the famous Hanseatic League.
The streets and squares of the town centre, with their rich, colourful timber-framed buildings, are reminiscent of Einbeck´s heyday in the 15th and 16th centuries. Then, principally with local brewing industry products, Einbeck burghers traded lucratively over a wide region, stretching over the whole of northern Germany as far as Scandinavia and the Baltic, as well as into southern Germany.
