HANSEartWORKS 2008- Salzwedel/Germany

Save as...

An old warehouse – which even during the time of the old Hanse was one of the most important reloading points for all kinds of goods – is being brought back to life by artists from 34 Hanseatic cities and 11 countries. After a period of clearing, repairing and removing, the Gerlach-warehouse was reactivated after 125 years and conquered by art.

Jan Hoet, who was already involved in the first HANSEartWORKS exhibition, supported the warehouse concept. It was a major accomplishment to open the warehouse to the public.

The project team HANSEartWORKS is thankful to the city of Salzwedel and the many employees for the enthusiastic collaboration under the instruction of Hans Molzberger and Jochen Mikolajczyk competently supported by Marén Haas.
